Think Again About Getting a Flu Shot

The nurse came by to see my mother the other day and asked if my mom wanted to get the flu shot. For those of you who have read my previous post on vaccinations know that I am not a fan of vaccinations.

I even read that flu shots including the H1N1 are now officially recommended for infants. OH PLEEEEEZE give me a break. Yes that’s right now you can go to your pediatrician if you child is 6 months or older and get a flu shot. This year flu vaccine includes 3 viral stains.

•An A/California/7/2009 (H1N1)-like virus
•An A/Perth/16/2009 (H3N2)-like virus
•A B/Brisbane/60/2008-like virus

I hope you are seeing some read flags! As you can see, it includes an H1N1-like virus.
Harvard researcher Marc Lipsitch, DPhil, and colleagues from the U.K. Medical Research Council and the CDC have said new research revealed that the 2009 H1N1 swine flu pandemic was no more severe than the average flu season.

Remember the news reports that originally said that “millions” could die. And if you watched any news you saw all those people like lambs to slaughter getting their flu shots or flu mist. You could even drive up to your local drug store like Walgreens and get your shot. How convenient.

This “false pandemic,” as many have called it, proved to be mild in most cases, with patients recovering on their own with no medical attention necessary most of the time.

Did you know that the swine flu was only tested on a few thousand healthy people for a few weeks? So no one can say whether or not a vaccine that contains H1N1-like virus is safe because it has not been thoroughly tested.
There is little or no safety data on how the flu vaccine reacts in pregnant women and chronically ill or disabled children.

There is also very little information about whether the flu shot will keep you from getting the flu. The data just isn’t there.

HOWEVER What is known is that injectable flu shots in multi-dose vials contain the mercury preservative thimerosal , which has been linked to autism, behavioral, and learning disorders in children. Already, anecdotal reports of miscarriages and deaths have been reported after receiving the H1N1 vaccine.

There is also the glaring example of what happened in 1976 when a similar U.S. government swine flu vaccination drive was underway. During that time, many (over 40 million people) did decide to get vaccinated despite the fact that the swine flu epidemic never materialized (again echoing what appears to be happening today.

Of those who decided to get the swine flu vaccine in 1976, several hundred people developed Guillain-Barre syndrome, a condition that causes weakness and sometimes permanent paralysis. At least 30 people also died … not from the swine flu, but from the vaccine.

So you might want to think twice about getting a flu shot this year or any year. I think I’ll stick to my shaklee Nutraferon to keep my immune system up.
