One of the Best Cleanses You can Do for Your Health

7 foods to avoidOne area that I personally have not spent enough time on in the past has been cleansing or detoxing. When I became a patient of Dr. Brouse he added a couple of cleanses at the back of the book that had my test report. One cleanse that he highly recommends in the Liver and Gall Bladder Cleanse. This cleanse has drastically changed patients blood test results, allowed other to skip their scheduled gallbladder surgery, and produced better general health. In fact he has been recommending this cleanse since 1977…geez Louise I wish I had been doing them since 1977 my liver and gallbladder would thank me…but as they say the best time to plant an oak tree is 50 years ago and the next best time is today.

As the seasons change this is a great time to do a cleanse to maintain your health.  This is especially vital during transitional seasons—and with the onset of  Spring, now is definitely a time when you’ll want to begin planning your own Spring cleanse. While it may sound a bit strange doing a body cleanse for health also encompasses an emotional cleanse as well as part of a successful detox. Consider what you want to “let go” such as anger, resentment, unforgivness and perhaps negative thoughts that have not been productive in your life and embracing the change that will accompany this process—

So what exactly is involved in an effective in a Spring Gallbladder Liver cleanse?  On a practical physiological level, the goal is to encourage discharge through your lungs and large intestines, while supporting your liver and eliminating toxins.

The liver is a large organ that is the workhorse of cleaning toxins from the body. The more common type of gallstone is made of crystallized cholesterol combined with bile salts. Gallstones may not cause any symptoms or may cause severe pain centered on the right side of the abdomen. This Gallbladder/Liver cleanse not only give these organs a TIME OUT , but also detoxifies the liver and allows any gallstones to be easily eliminated.

WHO and When should this cleanse be done?

The cleanse is recommended for people over 25-years of age, who are NOT pregnant or nursing. If someone has large gallstones they should seek advice from your natural doctor about this cleanse. When health symptoms indicate a congested liver or gallbladder, the cleanse can be followed any time. FOR BEST RESULTS REPARTITION   IS IMPORTANT. You should repeat the cleanse every 3-4 weeks until two consecutive cleansed DO NOT PRODUCE ANY gallstones.

When repeated within up to four weeks, the first part of the cleanse can be done in 3 days, making the cleanse a 5-Day process. A maintenance program can be followed with the cleanse twice a year. The best time for these cleanses are in the spring and fall when these seasonal changes encourage our bodies to detoxify.

Instructions for the Cleanse

Choose 7 consecutive days that are stress free, and the last 2 days can be spent at home.

Exercise:

If you are currently exercising on a regular basis at least 30 minutes, 3 X a week, continue. Morning before breakfast, is the best time to exercise for most people. If you are not currently exercising, and are physically able, walk briskly 20 minutes every day for the first 6 days of the cleanse.

 

Medications:

Avoid taking any medications that are not absolutely necessary. They interfere with the liver’s cleansing efforts.

 

Cleansing the Colon is Advised:

Cleansing  the colon before, during , and after the cleanse is highly recommended. This process increases the over-all detox process, encourages a more thorough liver/gall bladder cleanse, and allows the stones easier passage through the colon.Potential headaches and nausea will be eliminated or minimized when the colonics are implemented with the cleanse.

The following list of methods to cleanse the colon:

1. Colon Hydrotherapy at a health care facility: If you are in some states like Texas they require a MD prescription (I find this odd) but some colon therapist will have a doctor that writes the prescription anywhere from $30-50. You never see the Doctor they will just have it written for you. Each session is around $70-$75 dollars.

 

2. Home Colonic: (Editor’s Note: I personally like this method because when you own a colonic board this allows you to perform colonic in the privacy of your home and at any time that is convenient for you and this method is cost effective.) You can purchase a product from Colema Boards of California. They sell a plastic formed board that is comfortable, easy to clean and store. You can choose from disposable tips or stainless steal tips. It is great to have your own board, then colonics can be taken throughout the year for on going cleansing. You may have heard that death begins in the colon and that is true. How can you maintain health absorb your nutrients when you have a colon that is not clean. Do not make the assumption that just because you daily eliminate that you have a clean colon. That is simply not true.

 

3. An Enema: This is the least effective but can be used if a colonic is not available, however a series of enemas will be needed to be effective.

 

The First Five Days:

The first five days of this cleanse begins the detoxification process and prepares the body to eliminate gallstones and “sludge” front he liver and gallbladder. The cleanse diet is vegetarian to alkalize the body’s chemistry, that creates higher quality and thinner bile.

EAT:

  • Drink and eat most foods and liquids at room temperature or warmer. This will contribute in keeping the bile thinned.

 

  • The diet is largely fruits and vegetables, preferably organic and many eaten raw. (This is a great time to use your juicer-drink several glasses of fresh vegetable juice each day) Veggies can be eaten steamed , stir fried, baked or made into a soup. Dried beans can be included in your daily diet. Most fruits and veggies promote detoxification, but the following list are high in glutathione and some in sulfur which  helps the liver break down toxic chemicals, whether they are absorbed from the environment or produced by the body and critical for human health. So eat plenty of garlic and onions. As a side note it is the sulfar that burns your eyes when you cut them. Notice the sweet onions do not…therefore they contain less sulfur.  Foods that help are beets, radishes, carrots, garlic, onion, artichoke, asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, ale, bussel sprouts, cauliflower, spinach, romaine lettuce, avocado, watermelon, papaya, rhubarb, kiwi, plums, pears, apples, cherries, fits, grapefruit, lemons and limes. If thes are difficult to obtain look for frozen organic fruits and vegetables. The abouve mentioned veggies, when made into a soup with tumeric and oregano contribute to cleansing the liver and the gallbladder.

 

  • Drink, daily and between meals, four 8 oz glasses of room-temperature apple cider or juice preferable organic. Another options, instead of the cider, is to mix 1 t. of Shaklee Fiber Plan in a glass of vegetable juice, preferable freshly juiced. Also, fresh organic apples or cranberry juice without sugar can replace one serving of juice each day. People with hypoglycemia, diabetes, candida, cancer or stomach ulcers should replace the apple juice with the vegetable juice.

 

  • Raw organic nuts and seeds can be eaten in moderation. Most contain arginine, which helps the liver detoxify ammonia. They also contain glutathione and omega-3 fatty acids which support normal liver detox

 

 

  • Whole grains such as brown rice, barley and oats can be eaten when simply cooked in water. Whole  grain, high fiber breads can be eaten in moderation.

 

  • Drink a Minimum of eight 8oz glasses of room temperature pure water each day, preferably between meals. Herbal tea can be substituted for water. Shaklee Performance can be used in moderation.

 

  • Stevia and small amounts of honey or maple syrup can be used.

 

  • Organic olive oil, coconut oil and avocado oil can be used in salad dressings and stir-fries because, as fruit oils, they do not contribute to toxicity.   • Eat Until comfortable full: do not over-eat or under-eat

 

  • Snack between meals as needed: this is a perfect time to drink a protien smoothie, have a piece of fruit, or eat a handful of raw nuts or seeds

Avoid:

  • Any milk products-(mucous formers)
  • Animal and fish products: including eggs, red meats, poultry-(crate toxic residues in the liver and decrease the solubility of bile)
  • Fried foods, high-fat foods and fats
  • Sugar products and all artificial sweeteners ( in fact always avoid artificial)
  • Caffeniated coffee

Just a note for people who want to avoid the sugar…they can substitue malic Acid. It is the malic acid in the apple cider that softens the gallstones.

To use malic follow the following instructions:

Mix  1/2-1 teaspoon of malic acid in 32 ounces of water.

Do  not drink it all at once!  Drink it a little at a time throughout the day on an empty stomach.  Brush your teeth after each time that you drink a little.

ON THE  DAY 6 OF THE CLEANSE (or you can choose to do the above for 6 days and do the final flush on day 7.  Drink the juice of 1/2 organic lemon in a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
three times before 2:00 PM.

2. Do not have any dairy, oil, fat or meat for breakfast or lunch.  Food recommended is brown rice and steamed  vegetables.

3. Have lunch by 2:00 PM and do not eat or drink between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM.

4.  At 6:00 PM, mix 4 tablespoons of Epsom salts in 24 ounces of filtered or spring  water.  This will make four 6-ounce  servings.  Drink one 6-ounce serving of Epsom salts.  Wait 30 minutes to drink  water.  Drink as much water as you  like after 6:30 PM.

5. At 8:00 PM, drink another 6-ounce serving of Epsom salts. Wait 30 minutes to  drink more water.  Put the other two  servings of Epsom salts away until the next morning.

6. At 10:00 PM, mix half a cup of organic cold pressed extra virgin olive oil with the juice of a whole fresh red organic grapefruit (pink is okay).  Stir and drink quickly.

7. Go to bed and lie down on your right side and be very still

The Morning After take another serving of the Epsom Salts no earlier than 6:00 AM. If there is any indigestion or nausea wait until it passes before taking the Epsom Salts. Some take a tablespoon of dry oats to help the nausea pass. It works rather quickly. If you wish you can go back to bed.

After 2 Hours the last dose of Epsom Salts is to be taken. If you wish to go back to bed you certainly may.

After 2 More Hours you can eat. Remember to eat lightly. Fresh fruit juice, fresh fruit cooked oats etc. moving to more regular food later in the day.

Be aware that it may take 5 – 10 flushes at two week intervals to completely cleanse all accumulations from your liver. (Some individuals have eliminated as much as 2000 “stones”.)

Even after your first flush, your liver will function more efficiently.You do not have to do all 5 flushes, if on the 2nd, 3rd or 4th flush you no longer eliminate any “stones”.

Even just one year after the initial cleanse, your liver may build up enough “stones” to warrant another flush.

For maintanance it is suggested to perform one flush in every 6 months.

    I’m a fan of Dr. Brouse and often refer to his CD’s and books. Thank you for this information on the Gallbladder Cleanse. I’m currently facing gallstone issues and just had an episode for the first time ever. I was just curious, is there any other part to this cleanse for days 6-7. You just mentioned the first five days and so I’m not sure if there is more. Other cleanses discuss epsom salts and than a drink mixture of olive oil and warm water. Could you please let me know. Thanks.

    I am sooo sorry…I left the happy ending off. I just updated my wordpress to a later version. Hopefully that will eliminate any issues in the future. Please go to the post again and I have added the 6th and 7th day. Plus for those who have issues with fruit juice, for e.g. diabetics or people with candida issues I put a link to order malic acid that replaces apple juice.
