How to Reduce the Risk of Alzheimers by 47%

If you ever have known a family member or a friend who has had Alzheimers it is indeed one of the most difficult diseases to deal with.  Ask anyone who has had this experience. The person becomes helpless and dependent in every way. And then they don’t even know you or what is going on.

Of course if you watch any TV the pharmaceutical companies will tell you the answer to Alzheimers is Arricept. A closer look at the results of Arricept is that the drug only  raises the mental status exam score a whopping one point on average. That is certainly nothing to get excited about.
Studies show that Alzheimers is a disease that starts in the body’s brain long before the illness begins to show symptoms.  The short of it is that one must give their brain the nutrients it needs long before the need is apparent.

Fish Oil is one of the essential fatty acids is composed of two parts; DHA and EPA. The part that is most concentrated in the brain is DHA and EPA is primary in the body.

Using plant sources like flaxseed oil is not very efficient. In fact coverting EPA to DHA is not efficient either. Fish oil is the most effiecient source for the brain’s DHA.

The Framingham study found that people’s whose brain had the highest DHA levels they had a whopping 47% reduction in the incidence of of Alzheimers.
DHA helps infants to become smarter and have better eyesight. It also helps school age children do better academically.

A German study showed that fish oil reduces plaque formation which is what happens when one gets Alzheimers. But it is amazing to me that fish oil is not recommended as a preventative for Alzheimers.

I don’t know about you but I would rather err on the safe side and go with the  percentages and take fish oil.

So why don’t you want to go and get the cheapest fish oil on the market? Excellent question.

Not all fish oils are the same. Here are a couple of differences. Several fish oil preparations containing omega-3 fatty acids are now available either as natural fish oil concentrates or as chemically modified products. Natural fish oil has a maximum concentration of omega-3 fatty acids of 38%. If a fish oil has a higher concentration of omega-3 fatty acids than 38%, it is instead chemically modified.

Three different types of chemically modified products are available. These chemically modified fish oils contain

  • triglycerides (where the fatty acids have been exchanged by a chemical process)
  • ethyl esters and free fatty acids. Natural fish oils usually contain a balanced mixture of different fatty acids from the fish, while chemically modified products contain higher concentrations of EPA and DHA at the expense of other fatty acids and antioxidants (substances which inhibit oxidation, e.g. rancidity of fat).

I recommend OmegaGuard because it is a state of the art product that uses low temperature and triple distillation to maintain the purity and keep the nutrients in tact.
