Famous Toxicologist was Shocked After he Performed a Series of Experiments

The food you eat and everything else put in your body will become the building blocks of the cells. Recent research shows that even microscopic deficiencies of the essential vitamins and other nutrients can cause cell damage. Ongoing cell damage can lead to cancer and other disease.

One of the most stunning studies I’ve read

Dr. Bruce Ames, a famous toxicologist from UC Berkeley performed a series of experiments in which he selectively withdrew vitamins and minerals from his lab animals focusing on the B 12, B6, niacin, vitamins C and E, and the minerals zinc and iron. He was shocked by the results.

Under the microscope Ames saw DNA and mitochondrial damage as if the cells had been exposed to radiation. And evidence suggests that at least half of the US population is deficient in at least one these micronutrients. It is sobering to realize that chronic disease accounts for 7 out of 10 deaths in the United States and that these chronic diseases are entirely preventable through diet, exercise, and good supplements.

Medical doctors are on board too

The prestigious Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) in the June 2002 issue contains two articles entitled vitamins for chronic disease prevention and adults: scientific review. The authors reviewed over 150 scientific studies and concluded: insufficient vitamin intake is currently a cause of chronic disease… a large proportion of the general population is inherently at risk. “We recommend that all adults take a multivitamin daily.”

The question is will any multivitamin or supplement work? Or will just a multi vitamin give me what I need to stay in optimal health?

According to a famous Landmark study that was completed at UC Berkeley in 2007 the answer is NO.

Dr. Block approached Shaklee with the idea for the study. She was concerned over the media distortions of vitamin supplementation and wanted to do a long-term study to show the benefits and to overcome some of the flaws in the “bad” studies. She asked Shaklee to provide subjects for the study. While Shaklee did fund the study, the design and execution of the study and the conclusions drawn and published were under the control of Dr. Block from the start to the finish and published in The Nutrition Journal 2007.

The structure of the study is to compare people who took a group of Shaklee supplements to those who took just a multi to those who took none. Finding people who took just a Shaklee multi for 20 years (for a direct comparison) would be nearly impossible, because Shaklee customers tend to be better nutritionally educated and realize that sometimes just a single vitamin many times doesn’t meet all a person’s nutritional needs.

The first, and most obvious, point is that the Shaklee group scored a healthier total on virtually every marker in the study—disease-related, nutrient-related, or general-health-related. There was absolutely no sign of any toxicity or “poisoning” from taking too many supplements—and this group took a lot of supplements. In addition, the Shaklee group was older than either of the other groups (almost 10 years older than the non-supplement group!), and it still scored better, including a lower Body Mass Index (BMI).

I am going to explain just one e.g. and then just you can view the chart summary below. Let’s look at homocysteine level. This is a negative indicator for heart disease. The non-supplement users as well as the single X brand Multi Vitamin user’s Home cysteine levels were 50% higher than the Shaklee group. Meaning the NON Shaklee users had a 50% higher risk of cardiovascular disease.

Blood Pressure – Others studies have found it difficult to link a particular nutrient to lowering blood pressure but the Landmark study found that taking a group of Vitamins significantly lowered blood pressure. The authors speculated it was B and C each of which were present in optimal levels in the Shaklee group and much lower in the non- Shaklee groups. What many forget is that together many vitamins have a synergistic effect rather than one single nutrient.

CONCLUSIONS:

First, the study shows very clearly that using a broad array of Shaklee supplements for at least 20 years produces some pretty dramatic health benefits—both in indicators as well as disease incidence

We’ve said for many years that you will pay for your health—whether it’s good health or bad health— so it makes more sense to pay for good health.

With this study, it’s clear that paying for (and taking!) Shaklee supplements produce dramatic, positive impact on health

.Now, the study results don’t mean that if you take Shaklee, you’re bulletproof. But they do indicate that if you take Shaklee, you’ll be better off than if you don’t. So now the question of “What is your health worth?” becomes a more meaningful one, because there are clear results to pin to the cost of the supplements.

Second, the study shows very clearly that taking a lot of Shaklee nutrients is a good thing for your health

. We often run into fears about “overdosing” on vitamins in people (but strangely, we’ve never run into anyone afraid of “overdosing” on M&M’s or ice cream, which have virtually zero benefits and plenty of downside). In other words, having plenty of a broad array of Shaklee nutrients in your system produces better health. It’s a simple equation. There may be (and likely are) limits beyond which there is diminishing effect, but this study gives no indication of where those limits may be.

Shakee has created a simple to use once a day product called Vitalizer based upon the LandMark study. It has a very sophisticated delivery system. This is a great way to get the nutrients that your body needs and with proven guaranteed results or your money is fully refunded.

Is the fact that the multivitamin-only group used Brand X (an assumption, but logically true) and the multiple-supplement group used Shaklee products a significant factor? That’s a harder question to answer based just on the data.

But the fact that Shaklee supplements are scientifically tested in over

  • 100 clinical studies,
  • products manufactured to pharmaceutical standards , (means you are guaranteed the potency that is listed on the label)
  • are tested and tested and tested for purity
  • Naturally-sourced from better-than-organic raw materials (not from chemicals produced in a lab), are produced in a way that preserves the “life” of the nutrients (no high temperatures, harsh solvents, etc.),
  • Unconditionally guaranteed by a company with more than 54 years of experience—No wonder the average person that uses Shaklee is over 17 Years!

Thanks for this. I’m a new (well a slowly ramping up, not quite new) Shaklee distributor and this really explains things in a way I was searching to be able to do. Found your blog through the Flinstones post, also really good and I posted it to my Facebook.
